Scariest Tom and Jerry Cartoon - Illuminati Proof

Once you start to learn about the symbols and imagery used it is likely you will find and see more and more examples all around and often it will make you wonder exactly what is going on. You may start to see the world in a different way when you realise just how common this use of occult symbolism actually is.

Conspiracy theorists say the "Eye in the Pyramid" on the U.S. One Dollar Bill as evidence of a global illuminati occult conspiracy.

Illuminati symbols are all around you and everywhere you go. Illuminati symbols can be traced back to ancient pyramids and illuminati symbolism in the Christian bible and other world religions and mythologies. The most popular illuminati symbols is the eye on the pyramid.Other illuminati symbols can be found in architectural design, corporate logos, music, movies, cartoons, and the media.

Occult symbols are fast replacing Christian symbols in our culture. Therefore, we encourage you to use this list to warn others, especially Christian children who intentionally wear and display them because they are popular.

Keep in mind that many of these symbols have double or multiple meanings.
Watch the pyramid and the all-seeing eye in this old "Tom & Jerry" cartoon, this was made for children audience.

Tom and Jerry Introduction

Tom and Jerry Introduction

Poster-1-.jpgTom and Jerry is an American series of theatrical animated cartoon films created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, centering on a never-ending rivalry between a cat (Tom) and a mouse (Jerry) whose chases and battles often involved comic violence. Hanna and Barbera ultimately wrote and directed one hundred and fourteen Tom and Jerry shorts at the MGM cartoon studio in Hollywood, California between 1940 and 1957, when the animation unit was closed. The original series is notable for having won the Academy Award for Animated Short Film seven times, tying it with Walt Disney's Silly Symphonies as the theatrical animated series with the most Oscars. A longtime television staple, Tom and Jerry has a worldwide audience that consists of children, teenagers and adults, and has also been recognized as one of the most famous and longest-lived rivalries in American cinema. In 2000, TIME named the series one of the greatest television shows of all time.

The History of Tom & Jerry

What adult doesn't look back at his favorite cartoons? Tom & Jerry was one of mine. Before I was introduced to anime, I used to watch american cartoons (when they were good). You don't get many new american cartoons as you did before. Today, I don't like american cartoons as much anymore because they gotten worse. The jokes are corny, the humor is beyond stupidity, and the animation thinks its cute now adays (they are hilariously poor). Tom & Jerry, Scooby-Doo, Dexter's Lab, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and Looney Toons were the opposite of all of that. Although there are very few good american cartoons today, I still love my oldies. I best stick to anime from Present to future.

Tom & Jerry was basicly the best animation made in america (Next to other favorite oldies). Its about a Cat named Tom and a Mouse named Jerry if your new to this. Obviously, the cat tries to get the mouse but in this show, Tom cat is always outsmarted by Jerry mouse. Tom is a fiendish cat. Planning and devising ways to catch Jerry. Jerry is a carefree, cheese loving mouse. He is very clever in backfiring Tom's sceamish plans. His goal is to get the goods, food & cheese! I swear to you that I've seen every episode there ever was. Tom & Jerry was originated in 1965 and ended making more shows on 1972 (No, I'm not that old. The cartoon is almost older than me!) It was created by Joseph Barbera and William Hanna (and a few more that I missed). You don't hear any dioluge in this cartoon. Thats one of the elements that made it fantastic. It also had fantastic humor (Childish Violence included) and kept a small limited amount of characters. Although the show has no speaking or dioluge, it does have Sound FX such as yells/screams, a gasp here and there, breaking materials, radio music and news, etc, just no speaking from main characters.

If you watch it now, you won't find it as much funny as it was when I stared seeing it (from like 1989-19??). Yes, I was small. The animation sort of advanced as the years went by. If you wish to see the earliest animation of Tom & Jerry, click this Old Animation link. The picture up top is my favorite animation, the near-latest. For another sample of the latest Tom & Jerry animation, click the Lastest Animation link. See the big differnece? Think of it as a before and after thing. Today, you don't get good Tom & Jerry animation if it were remade. They try to make it look better in the new Tom & Jerry movies (which really suck). Since the real animators are deceased, people try to make the cartoon modern but fail in the making. The only Tom & Jerry related cartoon that was made which succeeded in becoming a good show was the Tom & Jerry Kids Show (another 1990s cartoon late after the originals), a jr. version of Tom & Jerry. It also featured other characters like Droopy Dog (yay!), Spike & Spike jr., the wolf, and soo much more! And yes, since this was 1990 modern, they did speak in dioluge. If you wanna see a screen from this show, click this Tom & Jerry Kids Show link.

Well, thats all. Basicly, I just gave you alittle history blog towards a whole book of the Tom & Jerry hisotry. I hope you learned a little something. Maybe you too can check this out if you haven't seen it. Its a great show for animation lovers. I hope there are many Tom & Jerry fans out there other than me. Thanks a lot for reading my blog.
Tom & Jerry - tom-and-jerry wallpaperMain articles: Tom Cat and Jerry Mouse
Thomas "Tom" Cat.

Tom is a blue-grey British longhair cat. He is the main protagonist and also the main antagonist of the story, who lives a pampered life, while Jerry is a small brown house mouse who always lives in close proximity to him and he is the second protagonist of the story. "Tom" is a generic name for a male cat or Warner Bros. cartoon character Sylvester was originally called "Thomas". Tom was originally called "Jasper" in the very first short, Puss Gets the Boot, while Jerry was named "Jinx". Tom is very quick-tempered and thin-skinned, while adorable mouse Jerry is independent and opportunistic. Jerry also possesses surprising strength for his size, lifting items such as anvils with relative ease and withstanding considerable impacts with them. Despite the typical cat eats mouse, it is actually quite rare for Tom to actually try and consume Jerry. Despite being very energetic and determined, Tom is no match for Jerry's brains and wits. By the final "iris-out" or "fade-out" of each cartoon, Jerry usually emerges triumphant, while Tom is shown as the loser. However, other results may be reached; on rare occasions, Tom triumphs, usually when Jerry becomes the aggressor or when he crosses some sort of line (the best example of which occurs in The Million Dollar Cat where, after finding out that Tom's newly acquired wealth will be taken away if he harms any animal, including a mouse, he torments Tom until Tom finally loses his temper and attacks him). Sometimes, usually ironically, they both lose, usually when Jerry's last trap potentially backfires on him after it affects Tom (An example is in Chuck Jones' Filet Meow short where Jerry orders a shark to scare Tom away from eating a goldfish. Afterwards, the shark scares Jerry away as well) or when Jerry overlooks something at the end of the course. Sometimes, they both end up being friends (only for something to happen so that Tom will chase Jerry again). Both characters display sadistic tendencies, in that they are equally likely to take pleasure in tormenting each other. However, depending on the cartoon, whenever one character appears to be in mortal danger (in a dangerous situation or by a third party), the other will develop a conscience and save him. Sometimes, they bond over a mutual sentiment towards an unpleasant experience and their attacking each other is more play than serious attacks. Multiple shorts show the two getting along with minimal difficulty, and they are more than capable of working together when the situation calls for it, usually against a third party who manages to torture and humiliate them both.

Tom changes his love interest many times. The first love interest is Toots who appears inPuss n' Toots, and calls him "Tommy" in The Mouse Comes to Dinner. He is also interested in a cat called Toots in The Zoot Cat although she has a different appearance to the original Toots. The most frequent love interest of Tom's is Toodles Galore, who never has any dialogue in Tom and Jerry cartoons.

Despite five shorts ending with a depiction of Tom's apparent death, his demise is never permanent; he even reads about his own death in a flashback in Jerry's Diary. He appears to die in explosions in Mouse Trouble (after which he is seen in heaven) and in Yankee Doodle Mouse, while in The Two Mouseketeers he is guillotined offscreen.
Jerry Mouse.

Although many supporting and minor characters speak, Tom and Jerry rarely do so themselves. Tom, most famously, sings while wooing female cats; for example, Tom sings Louis Jordan's "Is You Is Or Is You Ain't My Baby" in the 1946 short Solid Serenade. In a couple of shorts, Tom, when romancing a female cat, woos her in a French-accented voice similar to that of screen actor Charles Boyer. At the end of The Million Dollar Cat after beginning to antagonize Jerry he says that he is throwing away a million dollars, but he is happy. Co-director William Hanna provided most of the squeaks, gasps, and other vocal effects for the pair, including the most famous sound effects from the series, Tom's leather-lunged scream (created by recording Hanna's scream and eliminating the beginning and ending of the recording, leaving only the strongest part of the scream on the soundtrack) and Jerry's nervous gulp. The only other reasonably common vocalization is made by Tom when some external reference claims a certain scenario or eventuality to be impossible, which inevitably, ironically happens to thwart Tom's plans - at which point, a bedraggled and battered Tom appears and says in a haunting, echoing voice "Don't you believe it!", a reference to some famous World War II propaganda shorts of the 1940s. In one episode, Tom hires a mouse exterminator who, after several failed attempts to dispatch Jerry, changes profession to Cat exterminator by crossing out the "Mouse" on his title and writing "Cat", resulting in Tom spelling out the word out loud before reluctantly pointing at himself. One short, 1956's Blue Cat Blues, is narrated by Jerry in voiceover (voiced by Paul Frees) as they try to win back. Both Tom and Jerry speak more than once in the 1943 short The Lonesome Mouse. Tom and Jerry: The Movie is the first (and so far only) installment of the series where the famous cat-and-mouse duo regularly speak.
[edit] Spike and Tyke
Main articles: Spike (Tom and Jerry) and Tyke (Tom and Jerry)
Spike and his puppy son Tyke.

In his attempts to catch Jerry, Tom often has to deal with Spike (also known as "Killer" ), an angry, vicious but extremely dumb guard bulldog who tries to attack Tom for bothering his son Tyke (sometimes called "Junior") while trying to get Jerry. While they are in the cartoons, Tom and Jerry appears always while chasing and bothering his son. Originally Spike was unnamed and mute (aside from howls and biting noises) as well as attacking indiscriminately, not caring whether it was Tom or Jerry though usually attacking Tom. In later cartoons Spike spoke often, using a voice and expressions (performed by Billy Bletcher and later Daws Butler) modeled after comedian Jimmy Durante. Spike's coat has altered throughout the years between grey and creamy tan. The addition of Spike's son Tyke in the late 1940s led to both a slight softening of Spike's character and a short-lived spin-off theatrical series (Spike and Tyke). Most cartoons with Spike in it have a system; usually Spike is trying to accomplish something (such as building a dog house or sleeping) when Tom and Jerry's antics stop him from doing it, Spike then (presumably due to prejudice) singles out Tom as the culprit and threatens him that if it ever happens again he will do "something horrible" to Tom (effectively forcing Tom to take the blame of anyone else) while Jerry overhears, afterwards Jerry usually does anything he can to interrupt whatever Spike is doing while Tom barely manages to stop him (usually getting injured in the process), usually Jerry eventually wrecks whatever Spike is doing in spectacular fashion and leaving Tom to take the blame, forcing him to fight Spike and inevitably lose (usually due to the fact the Tom is usually framed by Jerry and that Spike just doesn't like Tom) off-screen, finally Tom is generally shown injured while Jerry smugly cuddles up to Spike unscathed. At least once however Tom does something that benefits Spike, who promises not to interfere ever again; causing Jerry to frantically leave the house and run into the distance (in Hic-cup Pup). Spike is well known for his famous "Listen pussy cat!" catchphrase when he threatens Tom, his other famous catchphrase is "That's my boy!" normally said when he supports or congratulates his son. Tyke is described as a cute, sweet looking, happy and a loveable puppy. He is Spike's son, but unlike Spike, Tyke does not speak and only communicates (mostly towards his father) by barking, yapping, wagging his tail, wimpering and growling. Tyke's father Spike would always get out of the way to care and comfort his son and make sure that he is safe from Tom. Tyke loves his father and Spike loves his son and they get along like friends, although most of time they would be taking a nap or Spike woluld teach Tyke the main facts of life of being a dog. Like Spike, Tyke's appearanch has altered throughout the years, from grey (with white paws) to creamy tan. When Tom and Jerry Kids first aired, this was the first time that viewers were able to hear Tyke speak.
[edit] Butch and Toodles Galore
Main articles: Butch (Tom and Jerry) and Toodles Galore
Butch and Toodles Galore, in the 1946 Tom and Jerry short Springtime for Thomas.

Butch is a black alley cat who also wants to catch and eat Jerry. He is the most frequent adversary of Tom. However, for most of the episodes he appears in, he's usually seen rivaling Tom over Toodles. Butch also appeared as one of Tom's pals or chums as in some cartoons, where Butch is leader of Tom's buddies, who are Meathead and Topsy.

Internet cartoon delivers violent fun

Once upon a time, two graduates of the University of Colorado decided to make a perverse cartoon for adults, which would simultaneously lampoon the fads and politics of society while also testing the outer limits of their audience’s gag reflex. Thus Matt Stone and Trey Parker begat “South Park,” and so the modern age of mature cartoons was born.

On this very campus, one animator and a group of friends from the area have created a similar monster: “Goremaster,” a bloody Flash epic that follows the exploits of its eponymous hero. Imagine Rambo with Chuck Norris’ mullet and a temperamental wall-eye, and you have some idea of Hugo von Goremaster’s appearance, but looks aren’t everything.'
Goremaster, voiced by co-creator and junior in communications Zack Hicks, has, over two episodes, slain friend and foe in multitudinous manners. A flamethrower down the throat, an arm used to decapitate its owner, then as a high-powered aerial saw and the classic fist through skull are but a few of the entrail-covered means of bringing outlaws to justice.
Hicks said the show, rooted in the creators’ collective love of South Park and likewise violent comic animation, has been long in the works.
“It was me and two friends of mine,” Hicks said. “We’re basically South Park and Venture Brothers nerds. We figured, ‘We’re artists, we can make stuff make something really violent with a barbarian hero.’”
Thus came the show, which at the time of this writing is available on Newgrounds, Albino Black Sheep and YouTube and has amassed more than 89,000 views between the first two episodes. Hicks said a possible DVD release is in planning, but such a release depends on the success on the next few episodes of the show.
Hicks said that, while money is not the root of the show, the ability to turn it into a career may not be out of the question.

“We got sponsored by Albino Black Sheep and had over 20,000 views, and Newgrounds is sponsoring ‘Goremaster 2,’” Hicks said. “Right now it’s sort of my full-time job.”

Hicks’ cohorts include co-creator Luke Hatmaker, a student actor at Belmont who also voices Goremaster’s sidekick Grizzlefist, and Robert Stephan, a local actor who will appear in the Clarence Brown Theatre production of “A Christmas Carol” this year and lends his voice to nemesis Baron Skullprince, Goremaster’s chief nemesis.
Accompanied by original music from Lucas Samms, the show very much appears a work of love made by friends, though the love is not necessarily felt so much as the gut-crushing horror onscreen and the sick anticipation of what hellacious havoc Goremaster will wreak next.
Episode Two came out last weak and accounts for nearly half of the total views tabulated in this story. From the looks of things, viewers are flocking to the videos and have mostly positive responses. As Goremaster battles a familiar plummer who may or may not have enhanced many of our youths, one thing is certain: This brutal barbarian is here to stay.

Smoke's no joke for Tom and Jerry

Children's TV channel Boomerang is to edit scenes from Tom and Jerry cartoons where characters are shown smoking.
The move follows an investigation by media watchdog Ofcom into a viewer's complaint that the vintage animations were not appropriate for young viewers.
The watchdog recognised the "historic" cartoons were made at a time "when smoking was more generally accepted".
However, Boomerang will only edit those cartoons where smoking appears to be "condoned, acceptable or glamorised".
Two such cartoons include Texas Tom from 1950 and Tennis Chumps from 1949.
'Stylised manner'
In the former Tom is shown trying to impress a female cat by rolling a cigarette, lighting it and smoking it with one hand. In the latter, Tom's tennis opponent is seen smoking a large cigar.
"We note that in Tom and Jerry smoking usually appears in a stylised manner," said Ofcom.
However, it said that "the level of editorial justification required for the inclusion of smoking in such cartoons is necessarily high".
"Depictions of smoking may not be problematic given the context," it continued.
"But broadcasters need to make a judgement about the extent to which a particular scene may or may not genuinely influence children."

  • Channel 4 has avoided censure after Sir Elton John swore on a live edition of Paul O'Grady's teatime show. On the programme broadcast 9 May this year, the British singer said he had changed his name from Reginald Dwight because it had made him sound "like a banker, or a w****r".

  • Ten viewers contacted Ofcom complaining that the language was inappropriate for the time of broadcast.

  • The media watchdog said the use of the word was "unfortunate" but that it accepted C4 had taken steps to avoid similar occurrences in future.

  • Tom & Jerry

    Name:     Tom & Jerry
    First Published :     Date:     1940
    Place:     Metro-Goldwyn Mayer.
    Formats :     TV Series
Cartoonist:     William Hanna and Joseph Barbera
    Characters Story:

Tom and Jerry were an animated cat (Tom) and mouse (Jerry) team who formed the basis of a massively successful series of theatrical short cartoons created, written, and directed by animators William Hanna and Joseph Barbera (later of Hanna-Barbera fame) and produced by Metro-Goldwyn Mayer from 1940 to 1958.

MGM later had more Tom & Jerry cartoons produced by outside studios in the 1960s (Gene Deitch's Rembrandt Films from 1961 to 1962, and Chuck Jones' Sib Tower 12 Productions from 1963 to 1967).

Tom and Jerry later resurfaced in TV cartoons produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions (1975-1977; 1990-1993) and Filmation Studios (1980 - 1982). The original Hanna and Barbera shorts are notable for having won seven Academy Awards, more than any other character-based cartoon series.

The plots of each short usually centre on Tom's frustrated attempts to catch Jerry, and the mayhem and destruction that ensues.

Reasons given may include normal feline hunger, the simple enjoyment of tormenting him, revenge for being slighted, or a misunderstanding between the previous cohabitators. However, Tom never succeeds in capturing Jerry, mainly because of Jerry's own craftiness and cunning.

The shorts are famous for using some of the most destructive and violent gags ever devised for theatrical animation: Jerry slicing Tom in half, Tom using everything from axes, pistols, rifles, dynamite, and poison to try and murder Jerry, Jerry stuffing Tom's tail in a waffle iron, and so on. A recurring gag has Jerry causing some sort of an explosive to blow up in his adversary's face, causing Tom to appear in blackface.

Exclusive: Producer Dan Lin on the Live Action/Animation TOM AND JERRY Movie and BONE by Jeff Smith

    Tom_and_Jerry_and_Bone_slice.jpg
Over the past few days I’ve been posting “7 Days with Producer Dan Lin”.  As I explained in the previous articles, I spoke at length with the Sherlock Holmes producer about not only his latest film, but everything he has in development.  Since the conversation ran so long, I’ve decided to break up the interview into many smaller parts.  I’ve already posted what he said about the Lego movie and Gangster Squad, as well as his thoughts on the Terminator Salvation ending and what’s up with future movies.  For today’s article, I’ve got him talking about the Tom and Jerry movie and the animated Bone movie – which is based on the comic by Jeff Smith.
Regarding Tom and Jerry, Lin says it’s going to be live action/animation hybrid and he compared it what was done on Alvin and the Chipmunks and Scooby-Doo.  He also said it would be a “different tone, obviously” with “CGI creations of the cat and the mouse.”
On Bone, Lin said Justin Monjo is writing the script and they already did a test with Animalogic (who did Happy Feet and Guardians of Ga’Hoole). He went on to say “it really looks like a mix of Shrek as far as the three Bone characters and their comedy, their Looney Tunes or Marx Brothers comedy set in a Lord of the Rings world. We’ve met with several directors and we hope to come to a director decision by January and Jeff Smith has been very intricately involved in the development process with us.”
    Much more after the jump:
For those not familiar with Bone, I suggest reading this.  But the quick info is it was an independently published comic book series from 1991-2004.  Time Magazine called the series “as sweeping as the Lord of the Rings cycle, but much funnier.”
    Bone_comic_book (2).jpgHere’s what Powells.com had on Bone:
The Bone adventures tell the story of a young bone boy, Fone Bone, and his two cousins, Phoney Bone and Smiley Bone, who are banned from their homeland of Boneville. When the cousins find themselves mysteriously trapped in a wonderful but often terrifying land filled with secrets and danger – and special new friendships – they are soon caught up in adventures beyond their wildest dreams. In Out From Boneville, the three Bone cousins are separated and lost in a vast uncharted desert. One by one, they find their way into a deep, forested valley where they come face to face with…
What many fans came to love about Bone is the way the series mixed humor and adventure in a fantasy world.  While a movie based on the comic has been talked about for years, if they’ve produced a test with Animalogic, it sounds like this is the closest the project has been to actually getting made.
And with that…here’s the part of the interview on Tom and Jerry and Bone.  While Lin didn’t discuss the story for Tom and Jerry with me, in a Variety article from earlier this year, it was revealed the film would be “an origin story that reveals how Tom and Jerry first meet and form their rivalry before getting lost in Chicago and reluctantly working together during an arduous journey home.”
Look for more with Dan Lin tomorrow night.  I haven’t yet decided what part is next.  But I’m thinking his comments on Justice League and Suicide Squad
    Dan_Lin.jpg
Collider: You’re attached also to Bone?
    Dan Lin:  Yes
    What’s the status of that?
Bone_comic_book (1).jpgDan Lin:  I love this project. You bring up all my favorite projects. The status of that is we’re…Justin Monjo an Australian writer is writing the script. I’m producing it with Animalogic, who did Happy Feet and Guardians of Ga’Hoole. They’ve done a test of what the movie will look like and it looks amazing. It really looks like a mix of Shrek as far as the three Bone characters and their comedy, their Looney Tunes or Marx Brothers comedy set in a Lord of the Rings world. Justin Monjo is writing the script. We’ve met with several directors and we hope to come to a director decision by January and Jeff Smith has been very intricately involved in the development process with us.
Zack Snyder is doing Guardians of Ga’Hoole.  Do you envision it in a similar look to what Zack is doing there?
Dan Lin:  No, it’s very, very different. I mean, the best way tonally again is Shrek meets Lord of the Rings. Very fantastical but between the Bone characters just a lot of comedy.
Bone_comic_book (3).jpgSince I’m not looking at IMDb, what else has….I forget the name of the writer you just said.
Dan Lin:  Justin Monjo, he’s an Australian writer.  We’re gearing it as an Australian production so he hasn’t written anything big that you may have known before.
When you have a project like that which a lot of people like that fits in very well at Comic-Con, is that nowadays almost easier to sell to the studio when you can say to them, we have a project we can sell at Comic-Con?
Dan Lin:  It depends on the title. Bone, honestly, is not because of the Comic Con crowd. It’s just that we loved the book and the studio loves the book. And in that case it’s a big seller as far as the Comic-Con world and it’s a cult favorite, but the fan base isn’t big enough when you look at other properties that justify the studio saying okay we’re going to buy it just because of the fan base or the brand name. I mean, it’s all well-known in genre fans and comic fans like you and me but it’s not well-known to the average person on the street. So if you and I were to go out to London right now and go in the street and ask them do you know Bone? Most likely people don’t know Bone. So we focus on really the story itself is what attracted the studio to buy it.
So you already have a take where you’re thinking about…
Dan Lin:  Very much so. We have a script and we’re talking to directors to come on and develop the next area.
Bone_comic_book.jpgHow much is the story that you’re doing based on original material from what Jeff did?
Dan Lin:  All of it. If anything, right now we’re discussing how many books should be in the first movie and if we do things right hopefully there’ll be multiple movies to tell. But right now there’s a discussion of do we use the first 3 books? Do we use the first 4 books of Bone? That’s the discussion but the source material is all from Jeff’s books.
So you’re thinking that for fans of the material sometime early next year we’re going to hear something either way?
Dan Lin:  Yes.  I’m thinking in first quarter of next year you’ll hear who’s the director of Bone and that’ll give you a sense of where we’re going.
Are you already thinking about a rating on this or is that still way too early?
Dan Lin:  It’s early but I would say somewhere between either PG or PG-13.
You’re listed for Tom and Jerry. I have to ask-what’s that? Obviously the cartoon but I mean…
Tom_and_Jerry_image.jpgDan Lin:  Yeah, it’s the cartoon. My kids love the show. It’s two things-my kids love the show, I love the show. It’s really the originator of cartoon violence.
    Without a doubt.
Dan Lin:  And the way I view it is it’s almost like sibling rivalry. It’s the way my brothers and I fought growing up, Tom and Jerry fight. So, it’s a well-known show internationally as well because historically Tom and Jerry haven’t spoken a whole lot and so it translates well into other languages. But right now we’re working on a live action/animation hybrid of Tom and Jerry.
I’m trying to get my head around that one real quick. Live action/hybrid. I think Warner Brothers has done that with Michael Jordon for some movie in the past like Space Jam or…
Dan Lin:  Yeah, I would say certainly look-wise you can talk about Scooby-Doo. You can talk about Alvin. What I mean is CGI creations of the cat and the mouse.
    I got it.
    Dan Lin:  Different tone, obviously.
TOM AND JERRY The Chuck Jones Collection (4).jpgTom and Jerry, when you look back on it now it’s unbelievable the violence that they did on that cartoon. I mean, can you even explore that kind of violence in a PG movie?
Dan Lin:  Yeah, well I’ll know better through the filmmaking process. Some we’re trying to retain some of the original what we call “cartoon violence”. There’s no blood. There’s a lot of laughing involved and you’re amazed at what you can do with music. So we really want to retain the spirit of the original Tom and Jerry. We’ll see how that changes as we go through the filmmaking process and also the MPAA process.

I know that this is a bit short notice, but for you London, England Tom and Jerry fans out there Boomerang TV is bringing you the Pet Personality Awards, a fun-filled FREE day in London’s Regent’s Park.
This star-studded event is happening this Sunday, the 13th September – there will be rides, stalls, races, obstacle courses and even a petting zoo! You can also bring your pet with you!

Visit and click “Read More About the Event” to find out how to get there and to get more information.

    Sounds like a fun time!
It's October and the leaves are changing color here. The cold is coming...sigh...I'm more of a warm weather person. So, to bring a little warmth in this cooling down season I've added a section for mobile phone ringtones. Yup, I'm making ringtones from Tom and Jerry sounds. Now, before you get all excited there is a small catch: only iPhone ringtones at the moment. There are a lot of phones out there, I know, but I'm starting with one who's format I already know. I'm going to do some more research and see about narrowing down some more ubiquitous formats for ringtones and then add those to the site. This should be interesting.

So, for those iPhone users, head over to the ringtones page and download some tones.
Finally, some more news about the new Tom and Jerry movie, though nothing really new. Does that even make any sense? Anyway, I happen to find this site today, Tom and Jerry Trailer that will hopefully have news and information about this upcoming movie.

For me the jury is still out on this. I'm not hip with the "origin story" plot. Here is the summary:
"The new Tom and Jerry movie is an origin story that reveals how Tom and Jerry first meet and form their rivalry before getting lost in Chicago and reluctantly working together during an arduous journey home."
I still have a bad taste in my mouth from the previous Tom and Jerry movie from the 90's. I'm not too sure about this one. I could be wrong, we'll just have to see. More information about this as I get it.

Oh, rumors still persist that it will be a 2010 release, though since there hasn't been much news I will have to agree with the blog poster that it might be postponed till 2011. However, this is all speculation on my part.
New DVD coming out this August 24: Tom and Jerry Meet Sherlock Holmes!

Check out the trailer here: Tom and Jerry Meet Sherlock Holmes

    It looks kind of fun.

Thanks, Jim for letting us know about this!

This last week I had a chance to watch the new Tom and Jerry Deluxe Anniversary Collection DVD. I have posted my review in the DVD/VHS section, but I'll post it here so that you, the fans, don't have to go digging:

I have been given a chance to review the new Tom and Jerry Deluxe Anniversary Collection DVD, so here is my take on this new collection of cartoons. I have two takes on this review, the Casual Viewer and the Purest. The Casual Review looks at from the perspective of someone that enjoys the cartoons for what they are as entertainment. The Purest Viewer, on the other hand, looks at the cartoons with higher expectations as one that has grown up with the cartoons, knows the history of the cartoons and respects the integrity of the animations.

    The Casual Viewer:
This is a great set for the casual viewer. It has some of the best selected Tom and Jerry cartoons; all the Oscar winners and a few of the nominees. The cartoons presented on disc one are a broad selection of toons, showing how the characters and animation evolved over there years. Disc two has a limited amount of Tom and Jerry from the later eras after Hanna and Barbera's initial run. However, the second disc is not as comprehensive as disc one. The extras are limited to a new 18 minute documentary on Tom and Jerry through the years, which I enjoyed a lot; and a bunch of trailers.

If you haven't bought any of the Spotlight collection DVDs or Chuck Jones DVD and want a safe collection of Tom and Jerry cartoons for your kids, this is a set for you.

    The Purest Viewer:
The question on everyone's mind is about how uncut these cartoons are: "The Milky Waif" and "The Little Orphan" have been edited and we are given the re-dubbed "The Lonesome Mouse". I find that a DVD that has a "warning screen", that you can't skip", that says the reason for presenting some of the cartoons as they were originally made is because pretending racism never existed in entertainment of this kind is doing a disservice to history a little misleading as we are given censored cartoons...again. Especially given the fact that they have a little box on the back cover that says that the DVD is meant for the adult collector and may not be suitable for children. This collection is more for the casual viewer than the adult collector as the adult collector wants their cartoons presented as they were originally made.

So how does this DVD fair to the Purest, well here's my take on the good, bad, and ugly:

    The Good:
It's great for the casual viewer. It's got a lot of great shorts on it. I LOVED "The Karate Guard" cartoon, one of the last that Joseph Barbera directed (a year before he passed). The magic was still there and made me laugh out loud a lot. It was a very fun cartoon. I have to admit that I've enjoyed the Tom and Jerry Tales cartoons, and "A Game of Mouse and Cat" was rather clever in my opinion. Though, Tom and Jerry Kids were a product of the whole "let's make our classic cartoon characters babies" trend in the 90's, I found "Flippin' Fido" to be enjoyable.

I liked the new documentary about Tom and Jerry through the years. I'd really be interested in a comprehensive documentary about Tom and Jerry, Hanna-Barbera, and the MGM animation studio. I think that there is a lot of history, insight, and material that could be presented in a 90-minute documentary if the Powers That Be so decided to do one.

I don't think I'm going to be making friends at Warner Brothers for what I'm about to say, but I have to be honest.

    The Bad:
This DVD is pretty much a double-dip. You can find about 90% of these cartoons and extras on the Spotlight DVDs and the recent Chuck Jones Tom and Jerry DVD. The only thing new to DVD is a new documentary, a couple Tom and Jerry's from the 70's, and a Tom and Jerry Kids. So they have an example of all the Tom and Jerry cartoons throughout the years, yet NO Gene Deitch cartoon! I know that the Gene Deitch era was a bit rough, but if you are going to mention him in the documentary and have examples of Tom and Jerry through the years, at least include "Dicky Moe" or the "Tom and Jerry Cartoon Kit". Can someone please explain the lack of Gene Deitch releases, please?

I'm surprised that this DVD didn't include "The Mansion Cat", the last Tom and Jerry to include William Hanna together with Joe Barbera from 2001. If I recall correctly that short has never been release on DVD.

    The Ugly:
Aside from this DVD bringing nothing really new to what as already release, we still get CENSORSHIP! As mentioned earlier, "The Milky Waif" and "The Little Orphan" have been edited and we are given the re-dubbed "The Lonesome Mouse". We are given a DVD that is still missing the shorts, "Mouse Cleaning" and "Casanova Cat". To add to the ugliness, this DVD has "Touché, Pussy Cat" and "That's My Mommy," in all their matted glory despite the widescreen title card and the widescreen versions in the Spotlight Collections.

I always hope for the best on any new Tom and Jerry release, but I just don't think that there is much love given to them. This DVD is a disappointment for me and it feels like a shoddy way to celebrate 70 years of Tom and Jerry.

I'm still hoping that one day we will get a truly definitive DVD box set that has all the Tom and Jerry's UNEDITED from all the era's in one set. I'm sure that there will be a lot of people vying to be first in line if that ever is a reality.

December 7th has been known as a "day that will live in infamy" and has been remembered as such for nearly 60 years. I, however, will remember it differently this year. I will remember it as a day that has changed me life forever. December 7th will live on as the day that I welcome my baby girl into this world.

So I'm looking around Zazzle.com to update my little store there when lo and behold I stumbled upon an area that has A LOT of Tom and Jerry products. Head over to Zazzle.com to view what they have to offer!

    And, a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

In celebration of gluttony, I want to wish all of you a Happy and Joyous, fun-filled, food-filled, Thanksgiving!

This has been a very busy summer for me. I was in 3 weddings all within a span of 2 months. Prior to those weddings was helping plan stuff and get things around the house ready. All that to say is that I've not had time to update.

    I apologize.

If you are looking for a new Tom and Jerry DVD, look no further than here:

Tom and Jerry Meet Sherlock Holmes comes to us this week on October 19th!

After doing some clean-up on the codes of my sites, I discovered that my RSS feeds have not been updated for about...oh..4 YEARS!!! Ugh! So I fixed the glitch on the feed, you will have to redo your linkages for the feeds. Sorry about that.

There is a new music CD available that has classical music used in Bugs Bunny cartoons. I know that it's not really Tom and Jerry related, however, it has the music from "Tom and Jerry in the Hollywood Bowl". The majority of music is, of course, from Bugs Bunny cartoons.

I don't know about you, but my first exposure to classical music was through Tom and Jerry and Looney Tunes. I jumped at the chance to get this CD since it is a LIVE orchestra performing.

    WE'RE BACK!!!

After much headache, phone calls, tech support, sleepless nights, coding, moving, etc., ect. Tom and Jerry Online is back online. There may be a few glitches here and there that I'll be working on but it should stop you from enjoying the site!

Warner Home Video has launched a Facebook page that is worth a look – and a “Like”. WB Classic Animation went live late yesterday and the first thing posted is a simple comparison video showing two steps in the restoration process for upcoming Tom & Jerry Golden Collection Blu-Ray DVD set. But coming in the next few days and weeks will be direct input from Senior VP George Feltenstein, including new product information direct from the source, with accurate on-sale dates and content information on new releases.

Note that this Facebook page is solely for information on their classic theatrical cartoon library – Looney Tunes and Tom & Jerry titles for now; hopefully Popeye, Tex Avery, Censored 11 in the future. Other classic properties owned by the studio (Hanna Barbera TV cartooons, animated features and TV specials, etc.) are not being covered on this page.

Many thanks to Cartoon Brew for the news!

    Heads up!

Sometime between October 4-12th Tom and Jerry Online might be Tom and Jerry Offline due to a server move. My hosting company hasn't given me an exact date, so I'll find out after they have moved it. There may some hiccups with the site after it's back up and I'll try to get them cleared up as quick as I can. Fun Fun!

Sorry for the lack of updates recently. September hasn't been a good month in the household as both daddy and baby have been ill on and off for most of the month. Ah parenthood. *cough* *cough* *ah-chooo!*

    Now this is pretty clever:

Wow! This is the first in many, many years that I've been able to do updates this often!

"So what do today's updates have to offer?"

Well, I'm glad you asked! I've added 30 images to the picture gallery that I've collected over the years. There may be some more additions to this gallery in the next couple weeks...not sure yet. I've also made 2 more Tom and Jerry animated GIFs:

I think I'm going to take a break from making animated GIFs. I've made about 5 in the last week and need to focus on other tasks.

I couldn't help myself this weekend. I made a couple animated GIFs. *GASP* I'm have a blast making them and I have a few scenes in mind that I'd like to capture. Not sure the time frame on those as I have a few other updates planned as well...like the reviving of the Clubhouse, which I've not forgotten about I'm just too easily distracted. Anyway, here are the new animated GIFs:

OK, so this isn't particularly Tom and Jerry news related, but I thought it nifty anyway. I'm a huge fan of robots and when I saw this image I thought it was pretty nifty:

If you look in the bottom right corner you will find our favorite mechanized cat and mouse from "Advanced and Be Mechanized" making a cameo appearance.
